Principles of fair play
A fair play coach believes and helps marchers understand that sport is an activity that develops character and shapes attitudes. A fair play coach will put more emphasis on respect, enjoyment and performing well, than they will on the result.
What does fair play mean to you?
In Marching, or any other sport fair play is about playing hard, but playing fair, whether you are coaching, competing, judging, officiating, or standing on the sidelines.
Both you and your marchers should:
- Respect the rules
- Respect others in the group/team
- Respect the officials and the decision of the judges
- Respect your opponents
- Give everybody a fair chance to participate and be involved
- Maintain self-control at all times.
